Bring what you know

A useful first conversation.
No finished plan required.

  1. Where will you build?

Town, ZIP code and site address, plus any requirements already provided by your local building department.

  2. What are you storing?

Cars, trucks, a plow, an RV or equipment, plus the clear space and door size needed to drive them in and out.

  3. When do you need it up?

Share your target date. The earlier you start, the more time for engineering, approvals, site work and delivery before the snow.

Useful questions

Clear answers.
Before you commit.

Start here, then talk through the specifics of your building with Jodi.

Yes. Many people use Quonset huts and straightwall steel buildings as garages for cars, trucks, plows and recreational vehicles. Tell Jodi which vehicles you need to fit and the door size you want, then confirm the design requirements for your site.

Once your kit is delivered and your site and foundation are ready, most buildings can be set up within a couple of weeks. Engineering, permits, manufacturing and delivery come first, so start the conversation early if you want to build before winter.

There is no single snow-load number for all of Northern New England. Confirm the requirements for your specific site and intended use with your local building department and the responsible design professional. Ask which engineering documents are included with your quote.

No. Do not choose a building solely because of its roof shape. Ask how the selected design addresses the applicable loads and follow the project-specific installation and maintenance instructions.

Yes. The S Series pairs straight walls with a curved roof, and the P Series pairs straight walls with a pitched roof. The Q Series has the classic rounded arch. Discuss usable space, openings and the applicable design requirements with Jodi.

Dimensions, project-specific design requirements, wall and roof profile, openings and delivery can affect the price. Larger buildings often cost less per square foot, so ask Jodi to price more than one size. Request an itemized quote and separate the building package from site preparation, foundations and installation costs.

The Galvalume steel has a 30-year rust-through warranty. Ask Jodi for the written terms, conditions and exclusions that apply to your building. Do not assume this covers storm damage, leaks or installation workmanship.

Start with Jodi for building-selection guidance. Before ordering, confirm in writing who is responsible for engineering, permits, site preparation, foundations, unloading and installation. Do not assume those services are included in the kit price.
